We’re pleased to announce another investment in our hire fleet.

Every excavator available to hire from Didcot Plant is now fitted with a quick hitch as standard.

Our 5 and 8 tonne excavators have featured quick hitches for some time, and we’ve recently completed the rollout by fitting manual quick hitches to our 1.0, 1.5 and 3.0 tonne machines. As a result, every excavator we supply now offers the same convenience, regardless of size.

A quick hitch allows buckets to be changed quickly and easily, helping to reduce downtime and making it simpler to use the right bucket for each stage of the job. Whether you’re a professional contractor working against tight deadlines or a homeowner taking on a landscaping or building project, this small upgrade makes using our excavators even more convenient.

This latest investment reflects our ongoing commitment to providing modern, reliable equipment that helps our customers work more efficiently. Alongside regular fleet replacement and maintenance, we’re always looking for practical improvements that enhance the hire experience.

We have today taken delivery of three new Kubota KC70 Tracked Dumpers.

At 758mm wide they are the ideal compliment to Kubota’s K008 micro excavator making the perfect pairing for small construction and landscaping projects where access is tight.

We’ve added another new hire line in the form of the Prop Pal needle system, complementing our existing support equipment range.

The Prop Pal needle system is designed to give you another option on site, particularly where you want to support both inner and outer leaf walls with a single, secure setup. It’s quick to install, creates more working space, and offers a high safe working load for added confidence during structural alterations.

Today we have added a Red Rhino 4000 mini crusher to our hire range, providing you with an on-site option to help reduce muck away bills and bought in hardcore costs.

The Red Rhino 4000 is a tracked, hydraulic jaw mini crusher, providing onsite crushing of concrete, brick, porcelain, glass and other aggregate type products. The hydraulic jaws can be adjusted to change the desired output size, from 20mm – 80mm and dust suppression is covered with a hose connection fitting.

This month we have bolstered our gardening equipment fleet with the purchase of a new Camon LS42 Scarifier and a Cobra 21” Rotary Mower.

The 42cm working width Camon LS42 arrived at the ideal time, as March and April are prime scarifying months.

The Cobra MX534SPH self-propelled lawnmower has a 4-speed gearbox and a cutting width of 53cm. It is powered by a Honda GCVX170 4-stroke engine, giving reliability and performance, and is perfect for a medium to large domestic lawn.

For the past few years, we’ve limited our area of coverage to 30 miles from Didcot, but with the recent increase in manpower are now extending this to 40 miles.

So, the next time you’re working that little bit further away please give us the chance to quote. We think you’ll be nicely surprised by how reasonable our transport rates are.

This week we’ve added a new line to our hire range in the form of Portek’s 2-stroke Post Driver.

The Portek Post Driver has a high impact hammer action to drive fencing posts, signs and tree stakes or pegs into the ground.

It comes complete with a round post holder and adaptor rings for posts and stakes from 1″ to 4″ diameter.

The optional square post holder accessory enables 3″ x 3″, 4″ x 3″ and 4″ x 4″ posts to be driven.

We’ve just taken delivery of two new Kubota KX085-5 8.4t excavators.

The KX085-5 brings all the latest features you’d expect:

• Smooth operation from the turbo-diesel, direct injection V3307 engine.
• A new class-leading spacious cab with superb all-round vision including a skylight and easy-open gas-assisted front window, advanced visibility mirrors plus an improved eight-vent air conditioning.
• A double-adjustable air suspension seat, wider foot space, ergonomically shaped longer foot pedals plus an arm and wrist rest help to significantly reduce strain and minimise operator fatigue.
• A 7-inch full colour digital display screen features Kubota’s Intelligent Control System. Accurate displays of all necessary readings – such as routine maintenance alerts, engine temperature and a 90-day usage register (for machine hours worked) – are all at the operator’s fingertips.
• A rear-view camera displays the view on the 7″ LCD screen in the cab.
• Fitted with Kubota’s industry-leading Anti-Theft system. Only programmed keys will enable the engine to start up.
• 7.33m reach and 4.6m digging depth.

In February 2024 we fancied buying another Manitou MT625 6.0m telehandler but there was going to be a delay to supply so we decided to extend the range into the 9.0m model instead. 18 months later and the success of the first one has prompted us to double up with a second.
