New Guard Barrier System

Guard barrier systemsNew to the hire fleet this month is the guard barrier system.

Each 2.0m x 1.0m 14kg section is moulded from High Density Polyetholene (HDPE) for impact strength and durability making it last up to six times longer than conventional rigid PVC barriers. The two built-in termopolastic feet swivel 360 degrees allowing for panels to be easily stacked for storage and transportation.

Conforming to all mandatory regulations the guard barrier system is ideal for a variety of work applications as well as crowd control and pedestrian demarcation situations. Each panel has the ability to stand alone or link to other panels to form a temporary wall.

Each 2.0m x 1.0m guard barrier can be hired for £5 per week (less applicable discount) + vat.

The guard barrier system joins our existing fencing range of temporary site fencing and low level barriers. Each line provides the answer for different applications.

The 3.5m x 2.0m temporary site fencing provides security as well as safety on site while the 2.5m x 1.1m barriers are perfect for pedestrian and vehicular safety from excavations or other site works. They are also ideal for pedestrian demarcation and control.

The temporary fencing and low level barrier carry a list price each per week of £3 & £2 respectively but they are both influenced by quantity and/or length of hire. Please allow us to provide you with a highly competitive quote.

The guard barrier system can be found in the Fencing section of our hire catalogue.

New Appointments Enhance Service

Providing our customers with the very best service has always been our main priority and it always will be.

Anyone can hire out plant and tools but it is how we do it that sets us apart.

At Didcot Plant we are committed to providing a level of all round service that is the envy of our competitors.

To ensure the level of service we provide remains as high as possible heading into 2007 we have taken a close look at our staffing levels and made four new appointments.

Since the start of October:

  • John Knight rejoined us in the hire department
  • Scott Cowley filled the vacancy in the electrical/small tools workshop
  • Tony Wickens joined us as a delivery driver
  • And, Glenn Riley will be joining our team in the new year as a fitter

These four appointments will ensure that throughout the firm we can continue to provide the highest levels of qulaity and service. A service that will boast amongst other things:

  • Five dedicated delivery drivers (with the option of two others at busier times)
  • Three mobile fitters for onsite requirements
  • Five in-depot diesel/petrol fitters
  • Two in-depot electrical/small tool technicians
  • Two dedicated counter assistants (with the option of a third at busier times)
  • And not forgetting a dedicated hire controller co-ordinating all plant & tool movements throughout the day

Website Additions

Screenshots of the Didcot Plant websiteOur website at www.didcotplant.co.uk has seen some changes this month with the addition of some new features.

The main feature is the opening of the ‘Sales Catalogue‘ where customers can browse and buy from our range of sales items. Initially we are offering a comprehensive range of personal protective equipment (PPE) but in time the range will be expanded. Payment for anything from the online store is through the popular PayPal system for online purchasing.

Also added has been a ‘Special Offers’ section where each month a new offer will be showcased. This month you can claim a free litre of carpet shampoo when you hire a carpet cleaner. Check the site for details.

The Hire Catalogue section has been updated to include the recent new items in our range and more photos have also been included. The catalogue will shortly also include extra information to do with equipment specifications and data.

Other plans to improve the website are also in the pipeline and our web designers, Webfooted Designs Ltd (www.webfooteddesigns.co.uk), are busy turning the ideas into reality.
