This year we have experienced huge demand for compactor plates, especially the 450mm light/medium duty size, so we’ve purchased two more Bomag 10/35’s for our hire fleet.
The Bomag 10/35 is an excellent general purpose plate, suitable for many compaction requirements, and perfect for patio installations. It is relatively easy to transport and with the handle folded forward will go into most hatchbacks and estate cars.
This week we have added another two of the massively popular Barreto 9hp Hydraulic Rotavators.
The Barreto 9hp is a professional grade all hydraulic pedestrian rear tine tiller. It is the perfect choice for mid to large sized gardens and allotments and can handle hard ground conditions thanks to its counter-rotating tines.
The Barreto 9hp features an adjustable handlebar that allows it to be offset for close tilling near fences etc. It has free-wheeling hubs that can be unlocked to allow transportation without the need to start the engine.
Today we have added another Dosko 13hp 337 Maxi Stump Grinder to the hire fleet.
The Dosko 337 Maxi is a professional grade stump grinder for both domestic and commercial applications. It is fitted with a powerful 13hp Honda engine that drives a three grooved power band belt, ensuring maximum power is delivered to the cutting head. The unique side discharge chassis keeps the majority of the cutting away from the cutting head giving you a clearer line of vision to the stump you are grinding.
With strong current demand for dumpers we have taken delivery of two new Thwaites dumpers: a 3.0t Power Swivel and a 1.0t Hi Tip.
The Thwaites 3.0t Power Swivel is 1650mm wide with a load capacity of 3000kg. It comes with a folding ROPS bar and the facility to carry a green seatbelt beacon.
The Thwaites 1.0t Hi Tip is a skip loading dumper (1573mm tipping height), 1.2m wide with a load capacity of 1000kg. Just like the 3.0t Power Swivel it comes with a folding ROPS bar and the option for a green seatbelt beacon.
Active ACT300 Turf Cutter/Lifter
The Active AC300 Turf Cutter is the compact and robust solution for stripping and lifting turf, suitable for both domestic garden and professional landscaping environments.
It features the powerful Honda GX200 petrol engine, detachable handles for easier transportation and a simple drive system of two forward gears. First gear is used when the cutting blade is engaged in the ground, allowing the AC300 to drive at the optimal speed for cutting turf up to 35mm deep. Second gear is for transporting, although on smooth ground neutral is usually the best option because the AC300 free-wheels quite nicely.
To use, set the blade to the desired depth of cut and engage the oscillating blade, select first gear and let the turf cutter do the work. Once you have come to the end of the first cut simply turn the machine around, line up the outside of the front wheel with the edge of the first cut and continue.
Top Tip: Before using the turf cutter make the soil wet. This makes it easier for the blade to cut through the turf allowing you to roll the turf up into manageable sizes. It is also recommended that you cut the grass as short as possible before stripping the turf.
Despite the current wet and cold wintry conditions we’ve turned our attention to a nicer time of year: Spring.
Early Spring is when the gardening season starts in earnest and demand will properly pick up for gardening equipment. With that in mind we have this week placed orders for more 9hp Barreto rotavators and another Dosko stump grinder and taken delivery of another Active turf cutter.
These new items will complement our existing range and help to make sure we keep up with demand. Roll on Spring!
Stihl’s reputation for being the premier manufacturer of 2-stroke equipment is well founded and for many years we have run nothing else. Stihl’s brush cutters and hedge trimmers are top notch, as is their industry leading 12″ petrol disc cutter, the TS410. In November we added two more to our fleet.
So what makes the TS410 so good? Simply put Stihl combine their long experience of market leading production with the latest technologies to make a petrol disc cutter that is efficient, reliable and operator friendly.
Starting the TS410 is aided by a small primer pump that delivers fuel to the carburettor and a decompression valve that helps reduce the pressure on the starter recoil (and operator’s bicep!). These features combine to reduce the amount of pulls necessary and effort needed in starting.
Once started the TS410 benefits from reduced-emission engine technology that gives more power with lower fuel consumption and pre-separation air filtration that gives longer filter life.
Operator comfort is addressed with Stihl’s anti-vibration system and modern ergonomically designed handle that allows the TS410 to be used in different working positions.

Gaining access to the back garden of many properties for diggers and dumpers can be a problem so it’s no wonder that equipment like the Hinowa HS701 mini dumper is so popular. We’ve just added another one to our fleet.
At just 758mm wide the HS701 can join the Kubota K008 1.0t mini excavator in the tightest of access situations for building and landscaping projects, saving on back-breaking manual wheelbarrow work. And with its high tipping, skip loading, feature the spoil is deposited quickly and easily into a skip or trailer.

Direct heaters provide large volumes of instant heat, right where you need it. They are best used in well ventilated areas such as warehouses, factories and on construction sites.
With the cold months fast approaching we have added two more of the Master B150 diesel oil fired direct heaters to our hire fleet.
The B150 produces 150,000Btu of heat burning diesel (red or white) at a rate of 4 litres per hour. With the tank holding 44 litres it can run for 11 hours. Each B150 heater is suitable to heat an area of approximately 20,000 cubic feet (570 cubic metres).

Paslode’s cordless nailers have been a market leader in timber to timber construction for many years, highly trusted by professional tradesmen for their performance and reliability.
With demand high we have added another IM350 First Fix Nailer and IM65 Second Fix Nailer.
The IM350 is a beautifully weighted nailer designed for first fix applications. It is supplied for hire with two Li-ion+ batteries, each with a maximum capacity of 9000 shots per 90-minute charge. We can provide it with either 51mm, 63mm or 90mm nail packs (1100 nails and a fuel cell providing enough fuel to handle fixing all 1100 nails).

The IM65 is an easy to use nailer designed for second fix jobs firing 16-gauge straight brad nails. We stock brad nails in 32mm, 38mm and 50mm packs (2000 nails and two fuel cells providing enough fuel to handle fixing all 2000 brads). It is supplied for hire with two Li-ion+ batteries, each with a maximum capacity of 10000 shots per charge.
