Fume Extractor Joins our Range
New to our range in August was a portable fume extractor.
Suitable for many working scenarios these 31cm diameter units can be used to cool, ventilate or extract clean or dirty air from both restricted and open environments at a rate of 3250 cubic meters per hour.
The fume extractor comes with 5m of ducting as standard but additional 5m lengths can be added to the hire.
The fume extractor can be hired at £60 per week (less applicable discount) + vat. Additional 5m lengths of ducting are available at £10 per week (less applicable discount) + vat.

Porcelain Drilling Solution Now Available
Porcelain is notoriously difficult to drill and cannot be drilled with conventional tungsten carbide bits.
We are now stocking diamond hole saws dedicated for porcelain drilling along with the kit necessary for the job.
The kit is designed to be used with a chuck drill and includes a water sprayer, a straight shank water swivel and suction drilling guide.
Hole saws are available up to 126mm but initially we are stocking 6mm – 51mm. Other sizes are available upon request.
The Porcelain Drilling Kit can be hired at £20 per week (less applicable discount) + vat. Core Drills cost between £10 and £16 per week (less applicable discount) + vat depending on size.

More GRP Road Plates Added to the Hire Fleet
GRP road plates and trench covers were introduced to our range earlier in the year and we have recently added more of the heavy duty road plates to the hire fleet.
Road Plates have traditionally been made out of steel which made them very heavy and difficult to handle but these new products are made out of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) and are a fraction of the weight of their steel equivalents. Despite being much lighter they do not lose any of their strength.
Heavy duty road plate
The Heavy Duty Plate measures 1400mm x 1400mm and weights 47kg, making it suitable for two men to carry. It will support cars and loaded HGVs travelling across road openings and trenches with a maximum width of 700mm. Each of the four edges is chamfered to minimise potential tyre damage.
Light duty trench cover
The Trench Cover is designed for lighter uses where nothing heavier than a car will be passing over the opeining (max. 700mm width). It measures 1200mm x 1000mm and weighs just 16kg making it a comfortable one man carry.

New Digger and Dumper Arrive at the End of August
At the end of August we added another new Thwaites 1-tonne Hi-Tip Dumper and another Kubota K008 0.8-tonne Mini Excavator. This brought our fleet of 1-tonnne skip loaders to twelve and 0.8-tonne minis to seven.
The Thwaites 1-tonne measures just 1115mm wide and gives a discharge height of 1.6m. It can safely carry up to 100kg in weight, 500 litres of heaped material or 400 litres struck. The Kubota K008 is the ideal choice where access is limited. It has hydraulically adjustable tracks that make it just 750mm wide for access and 860mm for working.
