Description
Dehumidifiers work by removing excess moisture from the air, helping to protect from damp-related damage. This is particularly important during the cold wet months, as increased humidity can slow down natural drying times. An ideal temperature for dehumidification is around 20°C so a portable heating solution should be considered when there is no existing heating.
Our heavy-duty, professional grade dehumidifiers can extract up to 45-50 litres of water per day (in perfect conditions).
Moisture Meter
We stock the Faithfull Moisture Meter that can be purchased to complement the hire of one of our dehumidifiers.
It gives a moisture content reading as a percentage and can be used to measure the moisture content in timber, mortar, concrete and plaster.
As a general guideline up to 16% moisture content is considered to be acceptable, 16-20% is borderline and above 20% is concerning.
So, if you’ve had a leak or have a damp problem that needs tackling with a dehumidifier you can take readings throughout the drying out process and are able to make an informed decision as to progress and when the dehumidifier is no longer required.
