We’ve run the traditional 2 stroke long reach hedge trimmer from Stihl for 15 years and we’ve now added their cordless version to our hire range as well.

The Stihl HLA135 Cordless Long Reach Hedge Trimmer is a powerful professional grade trimmer, ideally suited for DIYers and professional gardeners (who have access to power at the property they are working).

It is lighter, quieter and is easier to start than its 2-stroke equivalent, as well as being kinder to the environment.

We supply it with two ready charged batteries and a fast charger. The AP200 battery gives up to 64 minutes of working time and can be recharged in 55 minutes.

A new addition to our hire range in 2024 is the Manitou MT930 9.0m telehandler. Complementing the existing 6.0m Manitou MT625, the MT930 offers a similarly compact design to the MT625 but provides extra mast length and lifting capability.

Doing our small bit for the environment (and saving on energy bills while we’re at it) we’ve had solar panels fitted to our depot in Basil Hill Road, Didcot.

The 87 Photovoltaic panels and associated battery system should give us about £8000-£10,000 of electricity savings per year, not to mention reducing our carbon footprint by about 18,000kg.

The next step towards a greener company will be electric vans, which will be added in 2024 once we’ve had EV charging points installed.

Newly arrived today is our first Kubota KX080-4.

The KX080-4 has an operating weight of 8.4t and a maximum digging depth of 4600mm. Its Stage V Kubota engine – with CRS and DPF – delivers high power, low emissions and cost-effective performance.

Today we have taken delivery of four new Kubota mini excavators in the shape of 3 x U17-3’s and 1 x KX030-4.

The U17-3 is a hugely popular 1.6t ultra-short swing radius excavator with variable tracking and 2-speed travel. It comes with adjustable tracks that can be extended to give the U17-3 a total width of 1240mm. With the tracks in it measures just 990mm wide.

The KX030-4 is an industry leading 3.0t excavator designed to give power, performance, and driver comfort. The spacious cab, which according to Kubota is the largest in its class, provides the operator with a supremely comfortable and safe working environment.

With winter temperatures plummeting we have taken delivery of three new Master B150DV 150,000Btu Direct Diesel Oil Heaters.

The Master B150DV is designed to provide high volumes of warm air to well ventilated areas and is ideally suited to commercial environments.

With an approximate run time of 11 hours on a tank of diesel, the Master B150DV will heat an area of about 20,000 cubic feet (570 cubic metres).

Our mobile lighting range has been boosted by the purchase of two SMC TL90 Evolve Mobile Tower Lights.

Fitted with 4 x 320w LED lamps giving 144,000 lumens, the TL90 Evolve is powered by a Kubota water cooled diesel engine. The 120-litre fuel tank provides an efficient 185 hour run time @ 0.65 litres per hour.

New to our hire fleet is the ScreeDemon Walk Behind Screed.

The ScreeDemon is designed for levelling and vibrating freshly poured concrete slabs without the need to run off supporting formwork. We are initially offering it with a 2.44m beam.

These 2.4m x 1.2m Ground Protection Mats are perfect when you need to drive machinery or vehicles across soft or sensitive ground, especially lawns.

They are easily moved into position too, weighing in at 44kg, and are designed to handle a maximum bearing weight of 50 tons.

In the past seven days we have taken delivery of five new Kubota U17-3 mini excavators.

The 1.6t Kubota U17-3 is an ultra-short swing radius excavator with variable tracking and 2-speed travel. We’ve just added the first one to our hire fleet this week.

With the tracks drawn in the U17 measures just 990mm wide but once the tracks are extended to 1240mm the cab can be swung safe in the knowledge that the rear end won’t be colliding with anything close by, making it ideal for working in tight spaces or up against obstructions.
