In October we added another Fein Multimaster to our electrical tool hire range.

The Fein Multimaster is a variable speed oscillating tool used for sanding, sawing, scraping, cutting, polishing and rasping, thanks to its clever interchangeable head design. This design allows for a multitude of different accessories to be fitted to tackle a broad variety of jobs.

The Multimaster’s tool head oscillates at between 12,000 and 21,000 rpm, a feature that provides advantages over traditional spinning or vibrating tools.

These advantages include:

• Working without kick-back into the smallest corners and on edges
• Smooth running thanks to the tool not moving on its own
• Versatility

New to our gardening range in October was the John Deere D45C scarifier.

The D45C is a professional standard lawn scarifier. It has a working width of 450mm and a working depth of 200mm and is fitted with a powerful Honda 5.5hp petrol engine.

Just added to our hire fleet is the SPE MS 230 Multistripper.

The MS 230 Multistripper has been developed to satisfy the requirements of removing floor coverings from smaller projects and confined areas.

The compact and easy to operate machine offers the user a solution for commercial and domestic applications.

The MS230 Multistripper is typically used for the removal of sheet vinyl, linoleum, cork, bonded carpet, woodblock, tiles, de-bonded membranes, sports surfaces, failed latex and mortar/plaster droppings from concrete floors in new build situations.

*The MS230 is not suitable for ceramic tiles or cement/concrete based products.

Our fleet of 12” petrol disc cutters became 100% Stihl in the summer when we replaced all of the remaining Partner K650’s with Stihl TS410’s.

The influx of new plant into our hire fleet continues with the arrival of two new Thwaites Alldrive 3 Tonne Front Tip Dumpers. These follow hot on the heels of the other new acquisitions of a Volvo EC55 5 tonne excavator and four Thwaites Alldrive 2 Tonne Dumpers.

The Thwaites Alldrive 3 Tonne Front Tip Dumper has been updated since we last bought dumpers of this size. Ever conscious of issues relating to site access, Thwaites have reduced the overall width of this dumper to just 1650mm. To do this they have altered the shape of the skip to one that is deeper than the previous design.

Height restriction problems have also been addressed thanks to the introduction of a folding ROPS bar. This now makes the highest point the top of the seat, when the ROPS bar is folded down.

An improvement has also been made with security with the introduction of an isolator key to make the Alldrive 3 Tonne harder to steal.

Our dumper fleet received a timely boost at the end of April with the arrival of four new Thwaites Alldrive 2-tonne front tip dumpers.

The Alldrive 2-tonne is a thoroughly modern dumper giving smooth and quiet running thanks to a 3-cylinder water-cooled direct-injection diesel engine.

Narrower than the 2-tonne dumpers we traded in, Thwaites have reduced the width to just 1475mm, making it an easier dumper to get into sites with limited access. Height restrictions are also covered thanks to the ROPS bar folding level with the top of the drivers seat.
